You know, festivals don’t have to be all about drinking flavoured cider, eating sub-quality noodles and avoiding showers for a whole weekend. Not that we have a problem with those things. Not in the slightest. Wouldn’t want to go to them all the time though. We need to get our exercise in as well.
We have no idea if Balance Festival is named for that reason, but it works pretty well regardless. Three days of health, fitness, food and travel seems like a pretty damn good way to evenly distribute some of the less wholesome weekends that are likely to happen over the coming months.
Starting on May 14th, the weekend of wellness takes place at Truman Brewery where it’ll host an enormous selection of activities for anyone interested in the healthier things in life. If it’s fitness you want then you’ll find some of our favourite gyms and studios including Another_Space, Equinox, Third Space and F45, with headliners such as Zanna Van Dijk, Michael James Wong, Tameka Small and Jamie-Ray Hartshorne.
If it’s food you’re after then you’ve got a fair whack to choose from with the live cooking theatre hosting Clean Eating Alice, The Mindful Chef, Eat Drink Paleo and Alexandra Dudley to name just a few of the massive list.
But that’s not all, there’s a load of other stuff as well, covering yoga, nutrition, live music, education workshops, fashion and loads more we haven’t got time to write here.
Tickets for the event cost £24 for a half day standard pass or £42 for a full day VIP pass. You can also sign up for the Urban Tri, a unique challenge which will see you taking part in HIIT (25 mins), RUN (6k) and YOGA (30 mins) around East London. Tickets for the Urban Tri cost £48, or £75 for the VIP package. Seriously there’s loads more going on though, head over to the website here to see the full details.
